We will take a horse drawn carriage ride through the original approach to the mid 19th century estate Muckross House. This victorian mansion stands close to the shores of Muckross Lake, one of Killarney’s three lakes located in the Killarney National Park.
The Muckross Weavers, Pottery and Conservation Bookbinder shops are all located on the grounds.
Guided tours of the Muckross House interior rooms are optional and booked individually at the Muckross House reception counter upon arrival. The gardens are especially beautiful in June and well worth a walk through the charming paths. Great lunch choices are available in the Mucross House Cafeteria at mid-day.
In the afternoon we will stop by the Ross Castle. We will take a guided tour of this 15th century castle to experience what life must have been like while living in a strong hold.
- “A Special Surprise Day!”
Friday will be our last day in County Kerry, so we will have special surprises in store for our guests to inspire them to reach new creativity heights.
“Medieval Ireland Day”
We will be departing the Europe and making our way up to County Clare.
We will make a stop at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, the most complete and authentic medieval fortress in Ireland. Built in 1425 it was restored in 1954 to its former medieval splendor and now contains mainly 15th and 16th century furnishings, tapestries, and works of art which capture the mood of those times. – See more at Shannon Heritage.
There is a good selection of shopping and dining experiences during our mid day visit. A tour of the castle is included in your land package.
You will be taken to the Park Inn Hotel at the Shannon Airport for your last night of the retreat. The departure terminal for your returning flight is a short walk across the parking lot.
Tour ends. Time to say “goodbye” until next time. We hope to see you again in Ireland.
Day “Departure Day” Departure for most from Shannon Airport to return home.
